The first week of May marks the celebration of International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) in Lake County and around the world. ICAW is not just about composting, but about all the interrelated topics, like soil health, community, climate, hunger, wasted food reduction, conservation, and growing healthy food, which have all been past international themes. This year’s theme is “Compost! Feed the Soil That Feeds Us.” Celebrations will take place from Sunday, May 3, through Saturday, May 9, and will center around soil and biodiversity.
