The Village of Port Barrington is proud to announce two scholarship opportunities for the 2026–2027 academic year, marking our 11th year of supporting the educational goals of Port Barrington residents.

Port Barrington Educational Scholarship Award – $1,000

For use toward college expenses including tuition, books, and related costs.

Paar Family Trade School Scholarship – $1,000

For students pursuing technical, vocational, construction, or trade careers including construction & building trades, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, welding, carpentry, and related skilled trades.

This scholarship is generously sponsored by Port Barrington’s Paar Family and is specifically intended to support hands-on, skill-based career paths.

Eligibility:

• Must be a Port Barrington resident
• Current high school or college student                              
• Village Scholarship: Enrolled full-time for the entire 2026–2027 academic year in an accredited 2- or 4-year college/university
• Paar Family Scholarship: Enrolled for the entire 2026-2027 academic year in an accredited  technical/vocational program or apprenticeship.            
• One recipient selected per scholarship
• Demonstrated ambition and self-drive through school, community, charity, or work involvement

Note:  These scholarships are not based on financial need. While past grades are considered, these scholarships will not be based solely on academic accomplishment.

Important Deadline:

Completed applications and all supporting documents must be submitted by 4:00 PM on March 25, 2026.

All applications will be reviewed by the Village Board of Trustees Scholarship Committee.
